Trees Contact Information

The Permit Center is open to walk-in customers Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to noon, or a Planner is available for tree questions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by emailing [email protected] or calling 503-635-0290 and asking for the Planner on Duty.

Submitting a Tree Removal or Tree Protection Application

Please submit applications either in person or to [email protected]. If emailed, once the application is processed by staff you will be contacted via phone or email to collect the application fees and arrange for sign pick-up (Type II tree removal request only).

Returning Yellow Type II Notice Signs 

After you have received your Type II tree removal permit, please return your yellow notice sign to the entry vestibule at the southwest corner of City Hall, 380 A Ave., off the lower parking lot. The vestibules are accessible 24 hours. Thank you for returning your sign for reuse!
