LAKE OSWEGO – On Sunday, September 6, 2026, just after 2:00 am, Lake Oswego Police officers were dispatched to the area of Spinosa at Jefferson Parkway after a caller reported hearing a traffic crash. The caller provided an update to dispatch that there was a single-vehicle crash, the vehicle was upside down, and the driver appeared to be intoxicated. Lake Oswego Fire Department (LOFD) and American Medical Response (AMR) were dispatched to assist.

Officers arrived and found the driver was out of the vehicle, but a passenger was stuck inside. Additionally, a power pole had been sheared off in the crash and there were power lines down in the roadway. LOFD was able to safely remove the passenger from the vehicle, and then both the driver and passenger were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was identified as 20-year-old Branden Anders of Lake Oswego. He was later arrested and lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • ORS 813.010 – Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII)
  • ORS 811.140 – Reckless Driving
  • ORS 163.195 – Recklessly endangering another person
  • ORS 163.160 – Assault 4

We are grateful for the assistance from the Lake Oswego Fire Department, American Medical Response, and Portland General Electric (PGE) in managing the somewhat chaotic scene, and the Clackamas County Criminal Reconstruction And Forensics Team (CRAFT) for their help with the crash investigation.
